Job Description
- Far Hills Country Day School, an independent Preschool through Grade 8 school located in Far Hills, New Jersey, seeks a qualified Upper School Science Teacher

- General Purpose and Function:
- Far Hills Country Day School is looking for a science educator to partner with our PK–8 faculty and provide instruction to middle school students
- We are searching for an individual who embodies the following traits:
- Capacity to partner with faculty to enhance the PK–8 science curriculum in alignment with educational benchmarks;
- Expertise across various domains, such as project-based learning, alternative assessments, modern pedagogical research, and tailored instructional strategies;
- Skill in supporting the long-term roadmap, execution, and outreach regarding the science program;
- Ability to collaborate well and build teacher teams

- Essential Duties and
Responsibilities
- Teaching:
- Design, implement, and assess pedagogical strategies that mirror the school’s Mission and specific disciplinary benchmarks while integrating modern educational research;
- Collaborate on the refinement of curricula and student performance metrics to meet institutional objectives
- Engage in the systematic development, monitoring, and evaluation of the academic program;
- Partner with faculty teams to assess existing pedagogical methods and foster an environment of continuous improvement
- Apply tailored instructional techniques informed by data-driven assessments, school initiatives, and the latest advancements in pedagogy and technology;
- Foster robust partnerships with students and families through transparent, proactive communication and consistent feedback;
- Build trust and maintain strong professional relationships with stakeholders to drive student growth and cultivate a diverse, inclusive community;
- Utilize modern technological tools effectively to enhance age-appropriate learning, assessment, and instructional delivery;
- Commit to ongoing professional growth by participating in learning days, school-wide task forces, and collaborative committees;
- Student Advising
- Serve as a dedicated Advisor for a cohort of 6–9 students within the FHCDS Upper School framework;
- Guide advisees in navigating their academic journey and personal social development;
- Function as the primary link between the school and home to ensure holistic student progress;
- Actively participate in the grade-level team to deliver and refine the Upper School Advising Curriculum;
- Co-Curricular Engagement
- Contribute to the vibrant life of the school by leading or supporting extracurricular activities, including athletics, the arts, or student clubs, based on personal expertise
- Qualification
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is desirable
- Prior experience educating students in upper elementary or middle school settings is preferred

- Proven aptitude for working effectively within a high-functioning faculty team;
- Exceptional proficiency in interpersonal communication, analytical reasoning, and strategic problem-solving.
