Job Description
The Literacy Coach serves as a district instructional leader responsible for strengthening literacy
instruction across grades K–8 in alignment with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards for
English Language Arts (NJSLS-ELA), the New Jersey Literacy Framework, and the
requirements of the NJDOE COACH Grant. The Literacy Coach collaborates with administrators,
teachers, and support staff to improve core literacy instruction, enhance intervention practices, and
support sustainable systems for literacy improvement.
Requirements
- 1. Valid New Jersey instructional certification (Reading Specialist or related certification
- preferred)
- 2. Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience
- 3. Demonstrated knowledge of:
- Evidence-based literacy instruction
- NJ Literacy Framework and NJSLS-ELA
- MTSS and intervention practices
- 4. Experience with instructional coaching and adult learning preferred
- Details:
