Assistant Cook (24.5 hours/week)

• Job Title: Assistant Cook Reports To: Director of Food Services
• Job Purpose: Ensures that food is properly served and is appetizing in appearance and each student receives a nutritious meal

Qualifications

• Required:High School Diploma or equivalent2 years experience in the hospitality field
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Able to speak and understand English
• Displays a positive, courteous attitude towards students
• Exhibits a helpful, positive, and friendly attitude towards all associates
• Is clean, well groomed, and wears proper attire at all times
• Demonstrated excellent work ethic and attendance
• Ability to pass the Criminal History Review
• Ability to pass the Sexual Misconduct Child Abuse Disclosure
• Ability to Pass Pre-employment Physical Exam

Qualifications

• Desired:Experience working in a school cafeteria
• Knowledge of the healthy hunger free kids act (H.H.F.K.A.)

• Reports to the Head Cook
• Assists in cost effective menu preparation by meeting the standards set down by the Head Cook
• Performs all aspects of kitchen duties as directed by the Head Cook
• Assists with the supervision of staff, planning, and organizing the kitchen
• Maintains health and safety standards in accordance with the Atlantic County Department of Health

Salary

• $16.95/hr (base) + $1.50 hourly differential as per EHTEA Agreement
