Job Details

  • Job Title: Elementary Teachers (2) Reports To: Building Principal
  • Job Purpose: To provide an educational environment that engages students to learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible individuals

Qualifications

  • Required:NJ Elementary Teacher Certification, K-5, K-6, or K-8 (Standard, CEAS, or CE)Experience working with elementary students
  • Knowledge of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS)Experience leading, teaching, and disciplining students
  • Ability to speak English clearly and accurately
  • Ability to create and implement lesson plans
  • Ability to provide differentiated instruction
  • Ability to collaborate with other teachers and staff
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to motivate and engage students in learning
  • Ability to create and maintain a learning environment for all students in the class
  • Ability to asses student learning
  • Ability to integrate technology into daily lessons

  • Duties/

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and enforces rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Observes and evaluates students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health
  • Prepares materials and classroom for class activities
  • Plans and conducts activities for a balanced instructional program that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate
  • Establishes clear objectives for all lessons and units
  • Implements appropriate assessments to analyze student learning and effectiveness of teaching strategies/methods
  • Implements the effective use of technology to enhance teaching strategies
  • Prepares lessons that will enable students to meet required student learning standards at the end of the grade level
  • Communicates with parents/guardians regarding students' educational development
