- The Foreman - Facilities Custodial Services is responsible for day-to-day management of custodial staff, ensuring that the District, Charter, and Renaissance schools are cleaned and prepared daily for students and staff

- At least 5 years of full-time work experience in custodial services or facilities management/support
- At least 3 years of experience as head custodian in Camden City School District
- Black Seal Boiler License required or to be obtained within 2 years
- Practical knowledge of and/or competence in various key areas of school custodial services
- A valid driver's license as well as current insurance and vehicle with valid registration
- Required criminal history background check, physical, and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

- of the role include, but are not limited to:Advise Senior Director, Facilities on all custodial needs
- Liaison between Facilities Department leadership and school leaders to ensure all custodial needs are performed
- Assist in the recruitment and selection of all custodial personnel for day or evening shift, as assigned
- Evaluate performance of all custodial staff and makes recommendations to the Senior Director, Facilities in areas of personnel for day or evening shift, as assigned
- Direct all custodial staff during weather-related and other emergency operations for day or evening shift, as assigned
- Will be required to report on-site during weather-related and other closings, emergencies during any part of the day or night, and on the weekends, as necessary
- Prepare custodial staff for summer cleaning and special assignments
- Provide daily oral and monthly reports of general custodial operations to the Senior Director, Facilities for day or evening shift, as assigned
- Assist the Senior Director, Facilities in the Custodial Division budget development that aligns with the district goals
- Monitor the time records, attendance and other such personnel records as needed and submit this information to the Senior Director, Facilities for day or evening shift, as assigned
- Act as on-site contact person between administration, custodial staff, emergency personnel and community in all districts, Charter and Renaissance schools
- Provide substitute custodian coverage in the event of absence of facilities staff for day or evening shift, as assigned
- Keep informed and up to date with the latest trends, developments and products in the area of custodial services and make recommendations to the Senior Director, Facilities
- Establish and administer custodian schedules and work procedures for all District, Charter and Renaissance schools for day or evening shift, as assigned
- Ensure that custodians are familiar with the operation of the fire and building alarm systems and emergency shut-off for utility supplies
- Manage custodians during snow removal and assists when necessary
- Review all district schools on a daily basis for cleanliness and reports daily to the Supervisor
- Schedule meeting with custodial staff when deemed necessary for purposes reviewing custodial cleaning procedures
- Assist with managing all RTK regulations and maintain proper labeling with all chemicals with Custodians
- Supports projects and initiatives in other divisions and departments throughout CCSD on an as-needed basis
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Supervisor's designee
- CORE COMPETENCIESComputer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power
- Point) as well as School-Dude preferred
- Familiarity with New Jersey law and policy relevant to providing custodial services in school districts
- Effective communication skills
- Awareness of and conform to all district, local, state and federal regulations and codes pertaining to facilities upkeep
- Ability to inform staff in best practices cleaning methods
- Available for all alarm calls, emergencies as required and responds according to established district procedures
- Ability to train all Custodial personnel on all required State and Federal mandatory trainings
- Perform all duties and assignments in a courteous and cooperative manner, while adhering to high standards of workmanship, cleanliness and safety

- Under New Jersey's "New Jersey First Act" (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7), all employees of New Jersey public school districts must maintain bona fide New Jersey residency as a condition of employment
- Candidates must already reside in New Jersey or establish residency within the required timeframe after hire
- Current employees who were hired on or before September 1, 2011 are exempt from this requirement and may continue to reside outside the state
- In limited circumstances, applicants may request a residency waiver through the state's Employee Residency Review Committee if they can demonstrate critical need or hardship; approval is not guaranteed
