- REPORTS TO: Chief Technology Officer, Building Principals, and Assistant Superintendent of Business JOB GOAL: To provide advanced technical support and systems administration for district technology infrastructure, devices, hardware, software, and digital platforms
- The Technology Specialist - Level 2 is responsible for troubleshooting complex technical issues, managing and maintaining technology systems, and supporting the reliable operation of networked resources that facilitate teaching, learning, assessment, and district operations
- The position works collaboratively with district staff to ensure technology systems are secure, efficient, and readily available to meet the needs of students and employees
- PERFORMANCE
Responsibilities
- Help Desk &Troubleshooting
- Serve as the first point of contact for all technology-related troubleshooting requests from staff, students, and administration
- Prioritize, evaluate, and resolve helpdesk support tickets in a timely manner
- Troubleshoot and repair hardware, software, network connectivity, and peripheral issues
- Manage device repairs, including coordination with vendors and tracking warranty claims Device & Infrastructure Management
- Perform software installation, configuration, and updates on all district devices
- Complete computer setup, imaging, and inventory management
- Perform routine computer and device maintenance to minimize downtime
- Ensure all devices and the network are functioning and ready for daily teaching, learning, and all standardized/online testing platforms
- Support the setup, administration, and troubleshooting of district Wi-Fi, switches, and network infrastructure
- Assist with the administration of the Google Admin Console, Microsoft Active Directory, or other device management platforms
- Maintain accurate records of all district technology assets and equipment Testing & Academic Support
- Coordinate with administration and staff to ensure all technology is properly configured and operational for state and district testing windows
- Provide on-site technical support during testing periods to address issues in real time
- Support the deployment and troubleshooting of learning management systems (LMS), educational software, and classroom technology (projectors, interactive whiteboards, document cameras, etc.) End-of-Year & School Readiness
- Work collaboratively with administration and school staff in preparing and executing end-of-year technology procedures, including device collection, reimaging, and storage
- Lead back-to-school technology readiness efforts, ensuring all devices, accounts, and systems are prepared prior to the first day of school
- Assist with new student and staff account provisioning and onboarding Security &Compliance
- Apply software patches and security updates to maintain device health and compliance
- Support the enforcement of the district's Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)Assist with monitoring and responding to cybersecurity alerts or incidents as directed by the Chief Technology Officer Communication & Collaboration
- Maintain clear, professional communication with teachers, staff, students, and administration regarding the status of technology issues
- Document all support activities, resolutions, and procedures for the knowledge base and future reference
- Participate in professional development to stay current with emerging educational technology trends and tools
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Technology Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Business, or Superintendent of Schools Physical
