Qualifications
- Current Certified Educational Facilities Manager certificate or be able to obtain the certificate within two (2) years, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:17-50.High school diploma or equivalent, college level coursework preferred;Valid NJ Driver's license;Knowledge of Federal, State and local laws, regulations and procedures relating to public school facilities;Experience in the management of custodial, grounds, maintenance or other related personnel;Knowledge of and experience with maintenance and custodial services, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, security systems, grounds care/upkeep, pest management;Other appropriate licenses preferred; and,Strong interpersonal skills;Preferred purchasing background or willingness to be trained in this area

- PERFORMANCE
Responsibilities
- Establishes daily, weekly and monthly work schedules based upon priority, staff, budget and need.Creates and maintains cleaning schedules for evening, weekend and summer activities.Supervise and monitor the custodial and maintenance staff, including job performance, attendance and overtime.Assist the Director of Buildings and Grounds in staff evaluation.Assist the Director of Buildings and Grounds in the recruitment, interview and selection of new staff.Coordinates the opening and closing of all district buildings through custodial coverage and substitutes when necessary.Supervision, coordination and implementation of snow removal.Supervision and coordination of a program for the maintenance and care of school district grounds.Preparing and maintaining athletic fields.Covers routines or work assignments in the absence of appropriate staff.Maintains communication with principals and central administration regarding custodial and maintenance activities within the district.Meet with salesmen, review/test new products and make recommendations to the Director of Buildings and Grounds.Maintains an approved list of HVAC, electrical and plumbing contractors who may be called for emergency services.Meet with insurance, state and local inspectors during their periodic visits.Monitors outside contracted services, including but not limited to grounds, security, HVAC, etc.Prepare requests for custodial/maintenance equipment.Assists in formulating and implementing the policy for the use of facilities and equipment.Maintains security access codes along with alarm and fire systems certificates.Be directly responsible for all building security.Assist in the establishment of safety standards/procedures to comply with Federal, State and local regulations.Maintains an inventory system for all custodial supplies and maintenance equipment.Coordinate the ordering of supplies and equipment, including the overseeing of compliance with purchasing and procurement regulations, obtaining quotes, communication with vendors, entering/approving requisitions, approving material request forms.Provides input to the Director of Buildings and Grounds for the development of the annual budget.Recommend annual goals for improvement and participate in the implementation of said goals.Attend meetings at the request of the Director of Buildings and Grounds, Business Administrator and/or Superintendent.Act as the alternate delegate to the Burlington County Joint Insurance Fund.Act as the coordinator of the district's self-insured insurance and risk program; including establishing safety committees, holding quarterly safety committee meetings and spearheading safety and training initiatives.In the absence of the Director of Buildings and Grounds will provide direction to all maintenance and custodial staff.Other duties as assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds, Business Administrator and/or Superintendent
- TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve (12) months - follows the maintenance/custodial work calendar (260 days) EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Director of Buildings and Grounds

- for this position is between $77,000 - $82,000
