• This position focuses on working with students with autism, helping them develop academic, social, and life skills.Key

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with autism.Provide direct instruction in a variety of subjects, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.Create a structured and supportive classroom environment that fosters student learning and growth.Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure comprehensive educational support.Work closely with related service providers and the child study team.Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and social skills.Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Qualifications

• Certification/License:New Jersey State Certification for grades K-8.New Jersey State Special Education Certification Education
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.Experience
• Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level is preferred
