  • Position Purpose
  • We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Emotional Regulation Teacher to join our Lion Family for the 2026-2027 school year
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing specialized, therapeutic-based instruction to high school students with Emotional Regulation Impairments
  • This role focuses on implementing evidence-based behavioral interventions, fostering social-emotional growth, and delivering adapted academic instruction to help students achieve personal independence while successfully navigating the high school environment
  • Essential Job Functions
  • IEP Development & Monitoring: Lead the development of individualized goals and objectives that specifically address emotional regulation, social-emotional learning (SEL), and transition planning for post-secondary success.Data-Driven Intervention: Maintain detailed behavioral data records to monitor intervention effectiveness and adjust strategies in real time to support student progress.Student Support: Provide immediate support to ensure a safe, predictable learning environment for all students
  • Implement Behavioral Intervention Plans in collaboration with our district board-certified behavioral analyst (BCBA).De-Escalation: De-escalate and manage student behaviors using strategies and techniques, such as Safety-Care.Collaboration: Collaborate with district and building administration, BCBA, school psychologist, social workers, and families to support the whole child.Self-Advocacy: Focus on teaching students to recognize and advocate for themselves and their emotional needs.Experience
  • Previous experience working with students with autism or intellectual disabilities preferred.Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed educational practices and their application in a secondary setting is preferred.Certification
  • Certification: Must hold a valid State Teaching Certificate as a Teacher of Students with Disabilities
