• The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of literacy instruction, differentiated learning, inclusive educational practices, and collaborative teaching models to support diverse learners in a middle school setting

Qualifications

• English (K-12) and Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Elementary School and Teacher of Students with Disabilities (or documented eligible for the same) Ability to work in a collaborative setting and co-teaching setting Knowledge and understanding of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards A philosophical and practical understanding of differentiated instruction and a balanced literacy program including structured writing instruction, reading comprehension and vocabulary development Broad knowledge of age-appropriate fiction and non-fiction texts Ability to differentiate instruction, learning activities and assessments based on individual student learning needs Capacity to analyze student performance data to guide instructional planning and intervention Practical knowledge of current, research-based, effective educational practices
