- THIS APPLICATION IS ONLY FOR PAID COACHES/ADVISORS DIRECTED TO APPLY BY AN ATHLETIC DIRECTOR, A CURRENT DISTRICT HEAD COACH OR SUPERVISOR FOR GEHRHSD
- GREATER EGG HARBOR REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT You should ONLY complete this application if you have been directed to do so by the district office, an athletic director, a head coach or Supervisor with the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District
- A prospective applicant must have either a NJ teaching certificate, a substitute certificate or be eligible to apply for a substitute certificate
- To be eligible to apply for a substitute certificate, the applicant must have completed at least 30 college credits
- ALL applicants must be cleared by the New Jersey Criminal History Review Unit for this district and be approved by our Board of Education
- If you are a current staff member in aother school district, your fingerprints will need to be archived to our district
- Substitute certificates issued from the State of NJ are valid for 5 years
- Coaches or advisors that have been board approved will be paid a stipend
- Unpaid volunteers and/or clinicians are required to be fingerpinted for a criminal review and SHOULD NOT complete this application but SHOULD contact sromeo@gehrhsd.net to receive the appropriate fingerprint form to complete
- Paid coaches are not required to work as a substitute teacher but are eligible if they wish to also substitute teach and should note that in their application
- PROCEDURE FOR APPLICANTS THAT NEED TO APPLY FOR A SUBSTITUTE TEACHER CERTIFICATE TO BE ELIGIBLE TO COACH OR WORK AS AN ADVISOR: https://www.nj.gov/education/certification/substitutes/index.shtml
- If you do not have a current NJ teaching or substitute teacher certificate, you must first apply online for a NJ substitute teacher certificate at NJ Educator Certification to complete your substitute credential, oath of allegiance and pay the $125 application fee

- When asked ‘What Kind of Teaching Certificate’, select ‘Credential’
- You will then need to choose the specific certificate: Instructional Substitute (60 credits) or Instructional Substitute (30 credits). - You will need the following information to complete your application to the state via NJEd
- Cert if you are applying for a substitute certificate: Criminal History Clearance uploaded to the application (fingerprint approval from the Department of Education Only) Transcripts must be requested electronically directly from the college/university/clearinghouse and sent to Atlantic

- If you currently hold a valid NJ teaching or substitute teacher certificate, please upload a PDF copy of your certificate (you will also need to provide your tracking/certificate number on the application) Upon submission of the district coaching/advisor application, you will be emailed a NJ Fingerprint Background Check form
- Once completed and submitted, you will be contacted by the District Business Office to process the application
- You will be required to pay the necessary fees assessed by the state at that time (please have a debit or credit card available)
- Your application will not move forward until you have completed the Fingerprint Application Form and have a scheduled appointment to be printed or have your fingerprints archived
- PLEASE DO NOT COMPLETE THE FINGERPRINT PROCESS ON YOUR OWN
- You will receive notification of your board approval, with additional instructions to complete the hiring process
- Once board approved, you will be provided with an ID badge, a district email address and will be required to complete annual online training for this district in order to remain an active coach or substitute teacher in this district
- If you are a current school employee in another district and have complete online training for that district, you will be able to submit your completion certificates to sromeo@gehrhsd.net for review and consideration by the District Director of Curriculum
