Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.Registered Behavior Technician Certification required.Two years (60 credits) of college level coursework or passing Para
- Pro Assessment score, or specialized training appropriate to the needs of the program and/or student, preferred.Experience working with children with disabilities, preferred.Knowledge of diverse needs of students with disabilities with a behavioral component and appropriate special education practices.Ability and willingness to consistently implement behavior modification techniques as well as modeling and training staff, as necessary, in techniques and/or specific plans.Ability to develop and maintain clear and consistent records, data collection and quality reports.Be in good physical and mental health.Be physically capable of lifting, positioning and caring for children with disabilities.Be responsible, dependable, self-reliant and display initiative.Be able to take direction and supervision.Be sensitive to the nature and needs of disabled students and their families.Required Criminal History background check and proof of U.S

- as deemed appropriate.REPORTS TO: Principal or designee as assigned by the Principal JOB GOAL: To assist the BCBA, Teachers and Aides in their efforts to implement an instructional or behavior intervention plan and achieve prescribed educational objectives as per the students IEP by working with students and/or staff
- PERFORMANCE
Responsibilities
- Provide support to students and staff by providing services in Applied Behavior Analysis, Function Analysis and Assessment, Behavior Acquisition and Reduction Procedures and Adaptive Life Skills, as outlined by the BCBA, CST Members, or other appropriate specialists.Participate as an active member of the behavior team, led by the BCBA.Provide ongoing support and training as well as modeling and direct instructional support for school personnel, and other individuals in support roles for families (if applicable)Communicate professionally within the school community and maintain effective communication with staff and outside agencies.Problem solve crisis issues in an efficient and effective manner
- Establish rapport with students and staff, support students and staff so that they develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a foundation for continued growth
- Assist with development, monitoring, and maintaining a positive reinforcement system for individual students or classrooms.Participate in the IEP process, when appropriate, as well as assist in developing behavior plans.Address and implement behavior modification strategies in accordance with New Jersey Administrative Code, School Board policies and procedures, and current best practices.Facilitate training and professional development for staff, as needed.Participate in district provided staff development activities; examine personal effectiveness and continue to seek improvement in knowledge, competencies and techniques as a means of promoting personal development.Maintain RBT certification.Work cooperatively and objectively with other staff members to provide an integrated program for the students.Maintain an effective environment conducive to learning and supportive of student self-esteem by assisting in properly organizing the classroom setting, maintaining behavioral control over students and routinizing daily procedures.Sensitive to and respectful of the diverse background, characteristics, preferences, and beliefs of each individual in the school community and at large
- Promote effective school relationships by dealing with situations in an appropriate manner.Communicate in an appropriate manner while maintaining good public relations.Maintain confidentiality of student and school related information.Establish and maintain a consistent pattern of attendance in accordance with Board policy.Perform other duties within the scope of their employment, as deemed necessary by administration
