PARAPROFESSIONAL: SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM

• 10-Month Position JOB GOAL:To help meet the physical and instructional needs of individual students with disabilities inside and outside the classroom
• Assist with the implementation of students' Individual Education Plans (IEP), including self-help, behavior management, and instructional programs
• Works under the direct supervision and direction of the classroom teacher to assist the student with disabilities one-to-one in the classroom to achieve needed skills and

• for succeeding in school; and to provide supplemental and clerical services to assist the classroom teacher

Qualifications

• Paraprofessionals must complete at least two years (60 credits) from an accredited college or pass the Para
• Pro Assessment offered by ETS.Previous experience working with students in a classroom setting preferred.Knowledge of child growth and development and appropriate classroom practices and demonstrated ability to assist with instructional activities.Exhibits excellent integrity and demonstrates good moral character and initiative.Displays a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.Effectively communicates and understands job instructions both verbally and written in the English language.Required criminal history background check and proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status
