TEACHER: LANGUAGE ARTS LITERACY COACH

• 10-Month Position JOB GOAL: To provide instructional leadership, coaching, and professional development to support high-quality, standards-aligned literacy instruction across elementary and middle school grade levels
• The Teacher: Language Arts Literacy Coach collaborates with teachers, administrators, and district leaders to strengthen curriculum implementation, improve instructional practices, and increase student achievement in reading and writing through data-driven and evidence-based practices

Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey Department of Education K-12 English teaching certificate; K-8 Elementary teaching certificate; K-6 Elementary teaching certificate with the highly qualified middle school English Language Arts endorsement
• Valid New Jersey Department of Education Teacher Leader Endorsement, Supervisor, or Administration Certificate (desirable)Master's Degree in Literacy, Reading, Curriculum & Instruction (preferred)Minimum of eight (8) years of successful classroom K-8 teaching experience in literacy.Completion or commitment to complete graduate credit coursework from an state college or university to obtain a teacher leader (coaching) endorsement.Effectively communicates and understands job instructions both verbally and written in the English language.Strong knowledge of foundational reading, writing instruction, comprehension, and literacy assessment
• Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based literacy instruction, assessment, intervention, and data analysis.Demonstrated the ability to deliver staff development initiatives and programs.Demonstrated highly proficient language arts literacy and technology skills and the ability to implement the application of technology across the language arts literacy curriculum.Knowledge of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) for English Language Arts (ELA).Knowledge of Early Literacy Modules and the New Jersey Tiered System of Supports (NJTSS/MTSS).Criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status required
