  • 12-MONTH POSITIONJOB GOAL: Serve as the administrative head of the Special Education Program, School Health Services, Student Services and Child Study Team and assume

Responsibilities

  • for all activity within those units; Acts as a liaison for the Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendents regarding issues of concern related to Special Education and Student Services
  • DIRECTS THE EFFORTS OF: Special Education Program, Child Study Team Personnel and other Special Educators, School Health Services and Student Services Personnel (including: speech therapists, school psychologists, learning disabilities teacher/consultants, school social workers andschoolnurses) Special Education Teacher Coordinator, Student Assistance Coordinators (SACs) and Guidance Counselors (K-8)

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university required.Valid New Jersey Department of Education Principal Certificate required.At least three (3) years of related administrative experience.Demonstrated knowledge and application of effective principles, practices and trends within special education and student services.Ability to effectively administer student support services, special education programs and to work with parents and community groups and agencies.Strong leadership and communication skills.Effective technological skills.Required criminal history background check and proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status.Atlantic City Public School District is an Equal Opportunity Affirmative Action Employer.Candidates for employment who receive a conditional offer of employment will be required to be tested for the usage of controlled dangerous substances as they are defined in N.J.S.A. 2C:35-2.
