Job Details

  • Thrive Charter School is seeking a reliable, student-focused, and collaborative Middle School Educational Assistant to support students and teachers in grades 6-8
  • The ideal candidate will help create a structured, supportive, and engaging learning environment that promotes academic success, positive behavior, and student independence.Position Overview
  • The Middle School Educational Assistant works closely with classroom teachers and support staff to assist with instructional delivery, classroom management, and student supervision
  • This role is essential in supporting middle school students academically, socially, and emotionally throughout the school day

Responsibilities

  • Support classroom teachers with instructional activities and lesson implementation
  • Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning objectives
  • Assist with classroom management and maintaining a positive, structured learning environment
  • Support students with academic tasks in core subject areas (ELA, math, science, social studies)Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other non-instructional times
  • Provide support for students with diverse learning needs, including those with IEPs or 504 plans, as directed
  • Assist with behavior support strategies and positive behavior reinforcement
  • Prepare and organize instructional materials and classroom resources
  • Monitor student progress and communicate observations to teachers and support staff
  • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and positive relationships with students and staff

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; associate degree or college coursework preferred
  • Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred
  • Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
  • Flexibility and willingness to support a variety of student needs
  • Preferred

Qualifications

  • Experience in a school or youth development setting
  • Familiarity with supporting students with diverse academic or behavioral needs
  • Interest in education or pursuing a career in teaching or student support services
  • Strong classroom management support skills
