Requirements
- Valid New Jersey Instructional Aide Certificate or ability to obtain within the required timeframe
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and fingerprinting as required by New Jersey law

- Mandated reporter training completion
- Willingness and ability to obtain substitute teacher certification Preferred
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, or related field
- Previous experience as a para-professional/classroom aide or in K-12 educational settings
- Bilingual capabilities (specify languages based on school population needs)Training or coursework in special education, reading intervention, or behavior management
- Experience with educational assessment tools and data management systems Experience and Skills:Previous experience working with children in educational, childcare, or youth development settings preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer literacy and the ability to learn educational technology platforms
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with FERPA Position Purpose The Para-Professional/Classroom Aide supports classroom teachers in delivering high-quality educational instruction to students at various grade levels
- This position focuses on assisting with curriculum implementation, providing individualized student support, and helping create a positive learning environment that promotes academic growth and social-emotional development
- Essential Functions Instructional Support:Assist classroom teachers in planning and implementing curriculum-aligned instruction that meets state standards and school objectives
- Support small group and individual student instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, and other subject areas as assigned
- Help prepare and organize instructional materials, resources, and classroom displays
- Assist with lesson plan implementation and instructional delivery under teacher supervision
- Support the use of educational technology and learning management systems
- Student Support and Assessment:Provide individualized academic support to students with diverse learning needs
- Assist with formative and summative assessments, including data collection and progress monitoring
- Help identify students who may need additional academic or behavioral support
- Support implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs) and 504 plans as directed
- Document student progress and communicate observations to supervising teacher
- Classroom Management:Assist in maintaining a safe, inclusive, and conducive learning environment
- Support implementation of positive behavior intervention strategies
- Help supervise students during instructional time, transitions, and brief teacher absences
- Ensure student safety and follow all school safety protocols and procedures
- Administrative and Collaborative Duties:Maintain accurate records and documentation as required
- Participate in professional development opportunities and training sessions
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and support staff
- Attend meetings and planning sessions as requested
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or administrator
