  • The Supervisor of Data-Driven Instruction is responsible for the implementation, monitoring, and continuous support of a districtwide system of data-informed instruction.This role ensures that principals and teachers consistently use student performance data to inform instructional decisions, improve teaching practices, and drive student outcomes.The Supervisor leads the execution of instructional data cycles, supports school leaders in conducting effective data meetings, and provides direct coaching to teachers and administrators to strengthen data use at the classroom level.This position reports directly to the Deputy Superintendent (Instruction & Schools) to ensure tight alignment between instructional leadership, school performance networks, and the effective use of data to drive results

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum:Five (5) years successful teaching experience
  • Demonstrated experience in instructional coaching, data use, or school leadership
  • Strong expertise in:Data analysis and interpretation
  • Assessment systems and progress monitoring
  • Instructional planning and differentiation
  • Experience supporting teachers and school leaders in improving instruction
  • Knowledge of New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) Core

Responsibilities

  • Implementation of Instructional Data Cycles
  • Lead and support the execution of districtwide data cycles at the school and classroom levels.Ensure schools implement consistent data cycle protocols (assess ? analyze ? act ? monitor)Support principals and teachers in conducting effective data meetings
  • Monitor fidelity of data cycle implementation across schools Principal and Teacher Data Use
  • Build the capacity of school leaders and teachers to use data effectively.Coach principals in leading data-driven instructional conversations
  • Support teachers in analyzing student work and assessment results
  • Promote consistent use of data to guide lesson planning and differentiation School-Based Data Support and Coaching
  • Provide direct, job-embedded support in schools.Attend and facilitate school-based data meetings
  • Model data analysis and instructional planning
  • Provide real-time feedback and coaching Assessment Implementation and Support
  • Support schools in implementing district assessment systems.Assist with administration and interpretation of assessments
  • Ensure alignment between assessment results and instructional adjustments
  • Support progress monitoring and intervention planning Instructional Planning and Differentiation
  • Ensure data is used to inform high-quality instruction.Support development of targeted instructional strategies
  • Promote differentiated instruction based on student needs

  • Monitor the effectiveness of data-driven instruction across schools.Conduct classroom walkthroughs and instructional observations
  • Review evidence of data use in lesson planning and instruction
  • Identify trends and areas for improvement Professional Learning and Capacity Building
  • Design and deliver professional learning related to data-driven instruction.Facilitate training for teachers and school leaders
  • Develop tools, protocols, and resources for data use
  • Support collaborative inquiry and professional learning communities Alignment with School Performance Networks (NES Structure)Work directly with Executive Directors of School Performance to support instructional improvement across assigned networks.Align data use practices with School Stat expectations
  • Support principals in meeting performance targets
  • Provide network-level insights and recommendations Cross-Departmental Alignment
  • Collaborate with district departments to ensure coherent systems.Partner with Director of Curriculum and Assessment on instructional alignment
  • Coordinate with Data Department to ensure accuracy and accessibility of data
  • Align with Talent Department to support evaluation and development Compliance with Law and Policy
  • Ensure data use and instructional practices comply with:Federal statutes (including FERPA)New Jersey statutes and administrative code

  • Under New Jersey's "New Jersey First Act" (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7), all employees of New Jersey public school districts must maintain bona fide New Jersey residency as a condition of employment
  • Candidates must already reside in New Jersey or establish residency within the required timeframe after hire
  • Current employees who were hired on or before September 1, 2011areexemptfrom this requirement and may continue to reside outside the state
  • In limited circumstances, applicants may request a residency waiver through the state's Employee Residency Review Committee if they can demonstrate critical need or hardship; approval is not guaranteed
