• The Toms River Regional Board of Education has an anticipated opening for the following position effective with the 2026-2027 school year:Special Education - Autism

Qualifications

• The teacher shall hold an appropriate teaching certificate issued by the State Board of Education in K-6 Elementary Education and Teacher of Students with Disabilities OR Teacher of the Handicapped Classroom

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement classroom behavior and management strategies for children with disabilities
• Experience with developing classroom goals and objectives in conjunction with district curriculum
• Develop and implement a variety of teaching styles and techniques to ensure a positive and instructional atmosphere for all students
• Experience with PECS and/or AAC devices, data collection, ABLLS Assessment, VBMAPP, Discrete Trials/ITT, following individual behavior plans, and behavioral classroom management strategies for all learners2 years experience in similar position preferred
