Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey School Counselor Certificate or eligibility required.Knowledge of comprehensive school counseling programs and adolescent development.Experience supporting students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Include
• Provide individual and small group counseling to support students' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development.Assist students with academic planning, goal setting, organization, and successful transition through the middle school years.Promote college and career awareness by helping students explore their interests, strengths, and future opportunities through developmentally appropriate activities.Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and support staff to identify and address student needs.Participate as a member of multidisciplinary teams, including Intervention and Referral Services (I&RS), Section 504, and other student support teams as appropriate.Analyze student data to identify trends, monitor progress, and develop targeted interventions to improve student outcomes.Support attendance initiatives and work collaboratively with families to improve student engagement.Assist with crisis response, student safety planning, and schoolwide wellness initiatives.Coordinate referrals to community agencies and outside supports when appropriate.Maintain accurate student records and documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal
