- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - School-Based Mental Health Services
- The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) conducts mental health assessments, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, and supports the development of positive school climates that foster student well-being.Key
Responsibilities
- Crisis Intervention: Evaluate and manage acute mental health crises, including suicidal ideation, self-harm concerns, and other safety-related issues
- Lead de-escalation efforts, conduct risk assessments, develop safety plans, and coordinate appropriate follow-up services.Family & Community Liaison: Coordinate wraparound mental health services and connect at-risk students and families with community-based resources.Collaborate with school administrators, counselors, child study team members, teachers, and community providers to support student mental health needs and ensure continuity of care.Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, crisis response teams, and student intervention planning.Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and district regulations regarding student services and confidentiality.The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, crisis management skills, cultural responsiveness, and the ability to build effective partnerships with students, families, school personnel, and community agencies.Required Education and Licensure
- Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).Current and valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential issued by the State of New Jersey.Eligibility to practice independently and provide clinical mental health services in accordance with state licensure regulations.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of child and adolescent development, mental health disorders, trauma-informed practices, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.Demonstrated expertise in crisis assessment, suicide risk assessment, threat assessment, de-escalation techniques, and safety planning.strong case management and care coordination skills, including the ability to connect families with community-based resources and wraparound services.Knowledge of special education regulations, Section 504, and the role of social-emotional factors in educational performance.Ability to collaborate effectively with administrators, educators, Child Study Team members, related service providers, families, and community stakeholders.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clinical documentation and report writing.Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards.Working Conditions: Full Time, 12 Month Position
Salary
- Ranges from $70,000.00-$90,000.00 (Prorated)

Salary
- Per Negotiated Contract
- Effective September 1, 2011, all employees of school districts must reside in the State of New Jersey, unless exempted under law
- If you already work for the school district as of September 1, 2011, and you do not live in New Jersey, you are not required to move to New Jersey
- However, if you begin your office, position or employment on September 1, 2011 or later, you must reside in New Jersey
- If you do not reside in New Jersey, you have one year after the date you take your office, position or employment to relocate your residence to New Jersey
- If you do not do so, you are subject to removal from your office, position or employment
