Substitute Custodians

• Directly responsible to the Supervisor or Lead Custodian and through him/her to the District Facilities Manager and the Business Administrator
• The Substitute Custodian will provide students with a safe, clean environment for education
• Performance of Duties: Keep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways and play areas neat and clean at all times
• Sweep classrooms daily and dust furniture
• Clean corridors after school each day and during the day when their condition requires it
• Scrub and disinfect toilet floors daily, and clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily
• Keep the grounds free from rubbish
• To shovel, plow, and/or sand walks, driveways, parking areas and steps as appropriate
• Check regularly to insure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during the

• of building occupancy
• Maintain the school grounds in a safe and attractive condition
• Keep all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation
• Clean all chalkboards
• Move furniture or equipment within buildings as required for various activities and as directed by the principal
• To comply with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish, and waste
• Perform other duties as may be assigned
