- Holds or is eligible for a New Jersey Instructional Certificate Welding (2543) 2
- Required criminal history background check and physical.REPORTS TO: Building Principal or other appropriately certified superior as designated by the Superintendent.FUNCTION: Assumes responsibility for the instruction of assigned students in designated subject matter area(s) in accordance with the course of study approved by the Board of Education.Job Duties:1
- Teaches introductory and advanced Welding, with a focus on skills that are relevant in today's workplace.2
- Develops curriculum based on the New Jersey CTE standards and proficiencies
- Topics include safety and equipment, oxy-fuel cutting, plasma arc cutting, base metal preparation, SMAW, reading welding drawings, creating CAD drawings and utilizing those with CNC machinery.3
- Forms positive relationships with students and manages a classroom of students.4
- Researches curriculum options and implements curriculum.5
- Stays up to date with industry trends.6
- Facilitates a Program Advisory Board of industry experts who give advice about and direction for the program.7
- Maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting.8
- Communicates students' progress to guardians.9
- Participates fully in staff meetings and professional development.10
- Collaborates with other staff members and other programs in the center.11
- Orders and manages supplies.Term of Contract: Ten (10) Months
